My name is Bill Walczak and I’m running to be the next Mayor of Boston. I’ve spent the last four decades making Boston neighborhoods stronger, and I know, with the right leadership, we can continue to strengthen our entire city.
My experience spans our civic, business, and nonprofit sectors. My wife is a Boston Public School teacher and both of my children attended Boston Public Schools. I’ve helped bring economic vitality to our city, and created hundreds of jobs in our neighborhoods.
I’ve worked with our last three Mayors. I got my start in the 1970s creating the Codman Square Health Center which transformed a neighborhood and is recognized internationally as a model for community health and economic development. That work began with hundreds of conversations with residents in and around the community, and that input was essential for its success. That is how I want to kick off my campaign for mayor.
The next Mayor of Boston must harness the greatest resource we have in our city: our people.
I want to hear about what you think is working in Boston, so we can build upon our strengths. I want to hear your ideas on what our next Mayor should be talking about and thinking about. I want to hear what it is that makes you love this city the way I do. I look forward to beginning a discussion about what we should expect and build toward for the next generation.
Let me know by email, twitter, facebook, or on our website what your new ideas are for Boston.
In recent days we have come together like never before. This is the greatest city in the world and all of us, working together, can make it even better.
